What it is.
A matter is an arbitrary collection — a deal, a litigation, a vendor relationship, a regulatory filing — that groups together the contracts, research, and compliance items associated with it.
Useful for firms billing by matter, for in-house teams tracking transactions end-to-end, and for keeping the audit trail of a deal in one place.
